About this site

Publishing platform for this site

At the end of 2005 we re-launched this website into an open-source content management system, based on Zope/Plone technology. While we've tried our best to ensure that all the links and navigation work, and that the content is formatted correctly, migrating a website the size of ours is a complex process, so there may be some errors or broken links that we are still cleaning up. Please feel free to contact us at webinfo@oxfaminternational.org if you find a broken link or error on a page. We appreciate your patience, and thank you for visiting the Oxfam International website.

Accessibility

Oxfam International (OI) is committed to ensuring that its site is accessible to as many users as possible. This website conforms to basic recommendations and standards and has been tested with various technologies. If you encounter a problem accessing our site, or if you would like to provide feedback, please contact the OI web team at webinfo@oxfaminternational.org.

Javascript

Part of the Oxfam International website utilizes JavaScript for certain menu functions, therefore this site is best used with JavaScript turned on.

Hyperlinks

All text hyperlinks are written out so that they make sense when read out of context. In other words, we try to avoid using phrases such as "click here" as hyperlinks. Instead, all text that is hyperlinked will be as meaningful as possible.

PDF

Most of our reports and policy papers are stored in "PDF" format, which requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can download the reader for free from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html. These documents are best viewed using Adobe 5 or later.

Alt-text tags

We try to ensure that photographs and other images on this site are accompanied by a brief alternative-text tag that identifies the image or its function.

Map of the world

Peters Projection: a map which represents countries accurately according to their surface areas. This projection shows countries in proportion to their relative sizes. It is based upon Arno Peters' decimal grid which divides the surface of the earth into 100 longitudinal fields of equal width and 100 latitudinal fields of equal height.

Design
