Oxfam India has reached 16,500 people with food, working with its partners in Balasore, Ganjam and Puri districts of Odisha. Distribution of emergency shelkter items will begin soon.

Hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated as a huge cyclone hit India's coast on Saturday, 12 October. Oxfam's humanitarian aid response has now begun, aiming to reach those worst affected.

Oxfam India is providing humanitarian assistance in the form of non-food items such as fleece blankets as well as dry food rations to the flood affected and shelter-less and coordinating its efforts with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and through its partners in the affected areas.
