When Cyclone Aila swept across southern Bangladesh and eastern India on 25 May 2009, it caused widespread damage and affected around three million people.
In both countries, the cyclone caused a tidal surge which broke through poorly maintained coastal embankments.
With the threat of an impending monsoon, communities are still waiting for damaged embankments to be rebuilt so that they can return to their homes.
