A major earthquake, measuring 7.0 on the richter scale, struck the impoverished nation of Haiti on Tuesday 12 January.
The quake is the most powerful to hit the Caribbean country in 200 years and is a devastating blow for Haitians who were already struggling to survive.
Oxfam has approximately 200 staff in Haiti, and we are flying in up to 10 tons of water, sanitation, health and shelter equipment, valued at around $114,000, on a specially-stripped British Airways flight to Santa Domingo.
