Reporting to the Manager of Communications, Marketing and Outreach, the E-Communications Officer will be charged with strengthening and expanding Oxfam’s outreach and marketing capacity through digital media. Reporting to the Manager, Program Development, the Program Officer (PO) provides Head Office support to Oxfam’s Africa-based field staff in the administration, management and implementation of a portfolio of development projects focused on capacity building for women’s rights. The one-year term covers the final year of a 5-year program co-funded by Oxfam and CIDA. The Program Officer ensures effective Head Office monitoring of these projects and programs, and supports the Program Co-ordinator and Manager to manage operational and reporting relationships with the funder and other stakeholders. The PO may also engage with a range of external stakeholders to promote Oxfam programs, advance good practices and disseminate learnings.

 

Successful completion of this mandate requires the PO to negotiate and maintain effective working relations with a range of stakeholders, including staff of overseas Field Offices, Head Office colleagues in the International Program Department and Centre for Gender Justice, plus program accountants, communications and fundraising staff; as well as program partners and allies, funders and donors, other Oxfam affiliates, governments and agencies.
