Oxfam warned that devastating floods in Niger are affecting more than 500,000 people, most of whose basic needs are not being met.
For many of the more than 13 million people affected by the drought and food crisis in East Africa, the short October-to-December rains signal a shift in need and are likely to lead to increased requirements for health, shelter and water, sanitation, and hygiene services.
More than 2.1 million people are thought to have been affected by heavy flooding in Colombia which has destroyed close to 3,000 houses and caused damage to agricultural land, infrastructure and highways.
An estimated 1 million people have been affected by serious flooding in Pakistan. Oxfam has begun a humanitarian response, working with local partners in Pakistan.
