General Affairs Council to discuss 2014-2020 EU budget

Ministers will prepare for the EU heads of State Summit on the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) later that week. The MFF is the EU budget proposal for 2014-2020, and Oxfam hopes that the EU will use these discussions to ensure that it remains the world’s biggest aid donor. This will be the first time Ministers discuss the figures for the overall EU budget and per each heading. The meeting will also include a discussion on the European Development Fund, which is separate from the EU budget.
