The World We Want – Global Civil Society Symposium on post-2015

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have less than three years until the target is reached – and despite the world leaders’ commitment to eradicate poverty, the current growing inequalities, food insecurity, climate change, social transformations, an unsustainable growth, consumption and production model and the financial and economic crises pose a set of complex and interdependent challenges to the globalized world. The symposium will focus specifically on the food security – nutrition dimension of a potential future goal related to human development, with the aim of formulating specific goals and recommendations on how food security and sustainable development can be anchored in a future development framework.
