Control Arms reaction to delay in Arms Trade Treaty Talks
In reaction to the delay in Arms Trade Treaty Talks, Jeff Abramson, Director of the Secretariat of the Control Arms Coalition said:
“While demands of the Palestinian people for state recognition is an important and legitimate issue, this is the wrong forum to be addressing it.
“The world has waited too long for the deadly arms trade to be brought under control. Let’s not delay it any longer.
“Our message to delegates is clear: let’s get a Treaty agreed by the end of July. There is too much at stake, too much to cover in the Treaty for our governments to be suspending negotiations one more day.”
