Annie Lennox has been involved with Oxfam as a Global Ambassador since 2005. She is a passionate and committed campaigner who has lobbied the G8 and other world leaders, focusing particularly on HIV and AIDS.
"It’s such a great honor to be part of Oxfam and act as their Ambassador. Through my travels and encounters visiting AIDS clinics and programs in Africa, I have found great inspiration. The world ought to do more for the millions of people living with HIV.
I truly feel that the more voices that unite behind Oxfam's work and become part of this global campaigning force the more real change we can affect.”
Annie has also been a tireless fundraiser for Oxfam, and works with many other organizations around the issues of HIV.
Last year Annie teamed up with 23 of the world's most acclaimed female voices to launch her Campaign SING, to raise money and awareness for the HIV/AIDS organization, Treatment Action Campaign (TAC). Oxfam has partnered with TAC for a number of years, helping to fund the program and has an ongoing strategic alliance supporting workshops and the production of media around issues related to HIV and AIDS.

Annie supported Oxfam's work in Mexico at the 2008 International AIDS Conference. Drawing on her personal experiences of working with people with HIV and AIDS, Annie helped lobby for universal access to treatment for HIV-positive people, drawing attention to the lack of health workers available. As she stated at the event:
“The Conference cannot be another talking-shop that regurgitates what is needed in order to win the battle against the HIV epidemic. A plan of action and clear political will to win the war against HIV and AIDS must come out of it.
“I bring my support to Oxfam in calling for more funding, stronger health systems and to increase access to millions for affordable medicines. I am only one voice amongst many here in Mexico, but I intend to make it resonate loud and clear.”
Annie also visited Mexico-based Oxfam projects.
“I am in this fight for the long term and proud to stand side by side with Oxfam and its work."
