Colin Firth talking to coffee farmers in Ethiopia.

Colin Firth has been supporting Oxfam since 2002 as one of our key Make Trade Fair Campaigners.

He traveled to Ethiopia in 2005 and met with local coffee farmers. He is also a Co-Director of Café Progreso – a co-operative chain of fair trade cafes that gives back to the producers.

As part of the Make Trade Fair campaign, Colin had coffee dumped on him to highlight unequal trade rules. He has also lobbied the head of the WTO on Oxfam's behalf as well as Peter Mandelson,

The EU Trade Commissioner. Colin also challenged the upcoming German Presidency of the G8 and the EU to ensure that promises of the G8 in 2005 are kept and that more and better aid will continue to be provided to the world’s poorest.

In November 2006, Colin won the European Campaigner of the Year Award in Brussels and returned from hosting a fundraising event in Los Angeles for Oxfam America.
