Kristin Davis, star of Emmy award winning HBO television show, Sex and the City, has been supporting Oxfam since the South East Asia tsunami in December 2004, first as a donor and most recently traveling on behalf of Oxfam to learn about our programs in Southern Africa.

She has since become a spokeswoman on behalf of Oxfam America Unwrapped, appearing in US and UK publications as well as the Rachel Ray Show in the US. She recently co-hosted a Los Angeles event with Esquire Magazine benefiting Oxfam.

January 2008 update --  This month Kristin met with women's groups and community-based organizations whose work focuses on the response to the HIV epidemic. She is supporting their cause for better access to treatment and is committed to carrying their message to a global audience.

Among the activist groups she met with are Let Us Grow in Orange Farm, Circle of Promise in Soweto and an HIV and AIDS project in Rustenburg, in the North West province. Oxfam is working with these groups to push for improved access to affordable treatment, an increase in healthcare workers and an expanded role for community-based care.
