Climate change and poverty in Tajikistan – slideshow
Tajikistan is one of the countries least responsible for causing climate change. It ranks around 109th in the world for all greenhouse gas emissions and 129th in emissions per person.
Despite this, the people of Tajikistan are already experiencing the impacts of climate change. More frequent droughts and heightened extreme weather conditions are hitting poor communities and eroding their resilience.
These photographs show in vivid color how people have been affected and what Oxfam is doing to help. (View it in full-screen to see the captions.)
