One million people are still in urgent need of food, water and sanitation as refugees fear returning home.
Four months of violence, looting and displacement have created a humanitarian crisis which will take months and perhaps years to ease Oxfam said today.
In the six months since the devastating floods hit Pakistan, with the help of generous public donations, Oxfam has helped almost 1.9 million people.
More than 2 million people are thought to have been affected by heavy flooding in Colombia which has destroyed close to 3,000 houses and caused damage to agricultural land, infrastructure and highways. 28 of the 32 departments in the country are currently under water.
The international community urgently needs to inject more funds and effort to stem a spiraling crisis in flood-hit Pakistan. A new United Nations appeal for funds will be issued on Friday.
One month after the floods first reached disastrous levels in Pakistan, the waters continue to rise. Many areas are still cut off and millions of people are in desperate need of immediate help. Reconstruction efforts must begin immediately to avoid devastating long-term consequences for the country.
