International agency Oxfam today urged donors to contribute generously to the aid efforts in Sri Lanka. The UN Flash Appeal, to be officially launched later today, will support the Government’s response to the massive floods that have affected the eastern and central parts of the country.

Oxfam is providing clean water for flood affected communities in Sri Lanka.

Relentless monsoon rains in early January 2011 have caused floods, mudslides and displacement across the eastern and central regions of Sri Lanka, affecting more than one million people. Oxfam and our partners are delivering food, clean water, blankets, hygiene kits, and tarps.
