Launch of Oxfam report on EU biofuels
This report sets out Oxfam’s views on the controversial topic of biofuels, and explains why the EU must scrap its binding target of sourcing 10 per cent of energy in transport from renewable sources by 2020. Oxfam believes that food crops should be used to feed the millions of hungry people in the developing world, not to fuel western cars. The report comes out as EU Energy Ministers meet in Cyprus to discuss Europe’s post 2020 renewable energy strategy.
