EU Environment Ministers’ meeting
Ministers will agree the EU position for the upcoming round of UN climate talks in Doha. On the agenda will be a discussion on how the new Durban Platform - agreed in December 2011 - will lead to a new legally binding agreement to reduce global emissions in a fair and equitable way, taking into account historical emissions as well as new economic realities. Environment ministers will also face growing questions about the lack of a satisfactory response to how much money developing countries can expect from climate finance once ‘Fast Start Finance’ (2010-2012) runs out at the end of this year.
