Drought in Somaliland: Photostory

Somaliland and other regions of the Horn of Africa are suffering from one of the driest years in memory. Severe shortages of food and water, along with spiralling food prices and the deaths of livestock, have plunged many families into destitution.

Oxfam and local partner Havyoco have been trucking in clean water and providing health support to affected communities.

Across the Horn of Africa region (Somaliland, Ethiopia and Kenya) Oxfam's response to the drought includes a mixture of emergency aid, long-term development and prevention, and advocacy to address the root causes of chronic drought.
