Oxfam launches report on stabilising Congo
Communities in eastern DRC live uncertain lives. Violence or the threat of it is an everyday occurrence and many people live without access to basic services. After decades of conflict the people of eastern DRC deserve to live free from violence and have a right to clean water, education, healthcare and sustainable livelihoods. Yet the government-led and internationally supported ‘stabilisation’ plans to ensure a transition from conflict to post-conflict and from humanitarian relief to development assistance seriously risk not delivering for the people of Eastern DRC.
