On 19 September Mexico was struck by a Richter 7.1 earthquake. More than 200 people have died, including over 80 in Mexico City and over 700 people have been reported injured in and around Mexico City. Oxfam is responding.

Large areas of Mexico City and Morelos have no electricity, buildings have collapsed. Mexico City's government has called for basic aid supplies.

Despite the Oxfam office being badly damaged, Oxfam Mexico is gathering information from local partners regarding needs and damage, and are working on a response plan.
