A desperate and largely unknown humanitarian crisis is deteriorating in the Lake Chad Basin region of West Africa, forcing millions of people to flee their homes and leaving millions more in need of humanitarian assistance. Oxfam is providing life-saving support but help is urgently needed to prevent the crisis turning into a catastrophe.
More than two million people have fled the conflict in Syria, seeking refuge in neighboring countries. Fighting continues to escalate across northern Syria and its western border. Every day thousands of families have no option but to leave their homes in order to save their lives.
The UN estimates that almost severn million people in Syria need humanitarian assistance, including four million internally displaced. We aim to help 650,000 people in Jordan, Lebanon and Syria over a 12 month period.
