Millenium Development Goals
Oxfam joins world leaders, civil society and people around the world to celebrate the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals by world leaders at the United Nations, but cautions that progress toward them must be tangible, political and disruptive.
In response to the final draft outcome document for the UN Summit to Adopt the Post 2015 Development Agenda (September, 2015), Oxfam welcomes the improvements in the text, and offers recommendations on additional changes to make the agenda truly transformative so that it leaves no one behind.
The political will that delivered the Millennium Development Goals is absent from today’s development debate, yet even bolder political leadership is needed if we are to achieve the new Sustainable Development Goals.
