A desperate and largely unknown humanitarian crisis is deteriorating in the Lake Chad Basin region of West Africa, forcing millions of people to flee their homes and leaving millions more in need of humanitarian assistance. Oxfam is providing life-saving support but help is urgently needed to prevent the crisis turning into a catastrophe.
Alternative ways of working is a community led approach to program delivery in Lower and Middle Juba.
Born of two decades of civil war this approach partners community level structures and institutions with humanitarian organizations and those that want to help them to deliver development programs in hard to access areas of the country according to local need.
