Oxfam works with communities in the Pacific to make sure people can earn a sustainable living and grow a reliable source of good food.
In Papua New Guinea, we support a community group of 120 farmers to grow bulb onions for sale; we provide families with small livestock which produce fertiliser, food and income; we also support communities to develop plant nurseries, and to learn how to grow diverse crops for food and income.
In Vanuatu, we train and support farmers to establish and grow small-scale market gardens.
In Samoa, we help train and support 2,000 vulnerable farmers to earn a living in their local communities.
In Tonga, we support communities to earn a living growing and processing virgin coconut oil and organic vanilla.
