Life as a refugee in Lebanon

Looking for safety in Lebanon

In 2015, the European Commission and Oxfam joined together with one clear aim: to tell the stories of refugees and make millions of the world's refugees visible. This video takes a look at what life as a refugee in Lebanon is like.

The scale of the crisis in Syria is unprecedented. Almost half of Syria’s population has been forced to flee their homes, including more than 4.5 million who are registered as refugees in neighboring countries.

Lebanon, a small country of just 4 million people, is welcoming over 1 million Syrian refugees but it is struggling to cope.  Oxfam has been working to provide access to clean water and sanitation and raising awareness of their rights as refugees, the importance of registration and helping them access health and legal services.
