On Saturday April 16, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Ecuador killing hundreds of people, leaving thousands wounded and causing severe damage to infrastructure. Access to safe drinking water and storage, as well as shelter is urgently needed. With your help we can reach the most vulnerable populations with vital assistance.
Oxfam Trailwalker/trekker is all about team spirit, from your walking buddies, to your support crew, to the Oxfam teams of volunteers and facilitators.
Make up a team with lifelong friends or bond with work colleagues. Walking teams must be between three and six members depending on the walk. You must all cross the finish line and collectively raise your income target.
For weeks in advance you will train together as a team for the walk and get used to your kit. It is hard, hard work, but with a solid team you will be ready to face the challenge ahead.
We will support you all the way to the finish line
Find the support crew that will keep you going in the early hours of the morning with encouragement and hot or cold drinks! Oxfam volunteers will be on hand too and there is plenty of advice on how to best support walkers if your crew is doing it for the first time.
If you aren’t ready to take on the walking challenge yet, but would like to help others reach their fundraising targets, get experience of organizing a massive event - or just sneak a peek at the trails - there are volunteering opportunities at all of our Oxfam Trailwalker events. Volunteers play an essential role as trail marshals, drivers, checkpoint co-ordinators and even physiotherapists.
Find or sponsor a team
Oxfam is part of the team too - we will give you the advice and support you need to complete the walk you choose - and we can even help you find a team if you don’t have one. Or if walking isn’t for you, you can still be part of team Oxfam Trailwalker by sponsoring a team or donating via one of our Oxam Trailwalker/trekker websites. To find a walk you want to join or sponsor, just click on the map.
