At any given time, we are responding to over 30 emergency situations. We provide life-saving essentials in the immediate aftermath of a natural disaster and to people affected by conflict, as well as long-term development support. You can help.
We believe that the women, men and children who are affected by conflicts and disasters have a right to live in safety and dignity. Those most at risk – whether because of an earthquake, a drought or a civil war – have a right to be free from violence, to have clean water, shelter and food. They also have a right to be heard and to take control of their own lives.
With your support, the Rights in Crisis campaign calls for:
- those people affected by conflict, insecurity and disaster to have the assistance they need and the protection that is their right;
- governments and the international community to address - and ultimately remedy - the political root causes of their vulnerability.
There is no such thing as a “natural” disaster, only disregard for the lives of poor people most at risk, a failure to properly prepare and respond.
And there is no such thing as an inevitable civilian toll in wartime, only disrespect for the rules which hold that civilians must be protected.
Wherever you live, wherever you are, you can help. Discover how!
