Oxfam joins a group of 11 NGOs in cautioning against a strong shift of Europe's development programming towards migration management. This can lead to an unacceptable contradiction to the commitment to use development cooperation to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. Aid is for the benefit of people in need and to promote human rights, and should not be used to leverage migration control. EU funding should be transparent and adhere to clearly established principles.
