Oxfam is using its in-country aid stocks to provide essential household items and portable toilets to families hit by the Sri Lankan landslides and flood. A team of Oxfam aid workers is assessing the scale of the crisis and how best the agency can provide further help. Initial plans for Oxfam's response are estimated to be in the region of $350,000.

East African heads of state are meeting in the Tanzanian capital Dar Es Salaam on May 30-31 to discuss resolutions to the on-going conflict in Burundi. The 50 biggest US companies, including global brands Pfizer, Goldman Sachs, GE, Chevron, Wal-Mart, and Apple, stashed $1.6 trillion offshore in 2015 –  $200 billion more than the previous year - according to a new report by Oxfam.
