Generational inequality has grown at an alarming rate, paralleling the rise in the gap between rich and poor. Despite their potential and strength in numbers, youth continue to be culturally and politically marginalized. Yet, they could be instrumental in finding solutions to the challenges of poverty.

The total number of signatories of the petition to the President of Paraguay demanding a postive solution for farmers reached 37,574, according to the organizers of the campaign, “Young with no land = Land with no future”.

If left unchecked, austerity policies could put between 15 and 25 million more Europeans at risk of poverty by 2025, bringing the number of people at risk of poverty in Europe up to 146 million.
