Oxfam and partners are providing clean drinking water to three indigenous communities in Rizal where people have walked six hours by foot to reach the town center.

The areas of Cagayan, Isabela, Kalinga and Apayao seem to be some of the worst hit regions at this point, with significant damage to shelter, infrastructure, and agriculture.  

Super Typhoon Mangkhut is the 15th storm to hit the Philippines this year and, so far, the strongest for 2018. An average of 20 typhoons hit the country each year.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimates that 4.3 million people live in the projected path of this destructive storm.
