With nominations for the next IMF leader in today, civil society campaigners including ActionAid, Eurodad, and Oxfam are demanding that the candidates debate each other publicly.

There are some problems so big and so entrenched it is easy to believe they will never be solved. Hunger is one of these problems. Yet there is no problem so great it cannot be solved.

In response to the Food and Agriculture Organization's report, "Climate Change, Water and Food Security", Oxfam's international climate adviser Tim Gore said:

Oxfam's regular monitoring processes have found financial irregularities in an Oxfam program for flood relief in Sindh, Pakistan. Oxfam takes transparency and accountability extremely seriously. As a result, an independent, external financial audit is currently taking place.

A new study for Oxfam reveals that developing countries are pledging to cut their emissions of greenhouse gases by more than developed countries. Oxfam estimates that over 60 per cent of emissions cuts by 2020 are likely to be made by developing countries.
